First Collaboration of the 7th Asian Film Awards with Yahoo! Movies for People’s Choice Awards Vote for your favourite Actor and Actress!

Hong Kong, 6 February 2012 – Marking the first ever collaboration between the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) and Yahoo! Movies, HKIFFS has officially launched the “People’s Choice Awards” voting today, encouraging public participation of this year’s Asian Film Awards (AFA).

People’s Choice Awards enable audiences from all overseas countries to have their voices heard at Asia’s leading celebration of the region’s film industry by voting for their favourite actor and actress at Yahoo! Movies. In the past, this award has been presented to actors including Andy LAU, CHOW Yun-fat, Eugene DOMINGO, JEON Do-yeon, LI Bingbing and WANG Sueqi.

The ten nominees in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories will automatically become “My Favourite Actor” and “My Favourite Actress”. The voting period runs from today to 11 March 2013 on the Yahoo! Movies website ( Voters will have a chance to win two admission tickets to the 7th Asian Film Awards Presentation Ceremony or two screening tickets to watch the AFA nominated movies.
